Love CBD Dutch Oil Spray 500mg

,

Love CBD Dutch Oil Spray 500mgSometimes it’s nice to know where your CBD oil comes from.

Love CBD is one of the few companies who take the provenance of their hemp incredibly seriously, and we’re delighted to see an extract hit the market derived entirely from Dutch hemp farms.

More often than not you never know the exact source of your hemp extract (unless you ask the manufacturer directly of course), so this adds a certain extra factor when picking out a top grade oil.

The Dutch farms use only the most exacting 100% natural and organic methods to grow these plants – which results in the best quality CBD oil you can get.

So is it worth giving it a try? We wholeheartedly believe so, and here’s why.

Love CBD Extracts Are Outstanding

In our opinion, the most ‘effective’ style of extracts out there are almost always those which retain additional cannabinoids.

The majority of the market still belongs to ‘isolates’ whereby the vast majority of benign additional cannabinoids (there are over 100 of them) are eliminated alongside that pesky THC.

Sure, this results in an almost ‘pure’ CBD extract – but the problem is that those additional components are essential for the goodness to travel around and be absorbed into the body. We’re not just saying it – this is referred to as full spectrum and is an increasing focus of study within the research community.

What this means is that you may have a little more residual THC than usual, but still way below government rules and to a level that’s never going to make anyone remotely high or fail a drugs test. All you need to do is check out the independent lab tests conducted by Love CBD to see the evidence.

In this case, the spray is predominantly CBD & CBDA but also retains traces of dozens of other aspects including vitamins, minerals, and terpenes usually lost during extraction.

When sourced from world-class organic Dutch hemp, you can be sure that if CBD is going to work for you then this is as good as it gets.

Why The Spray Bottle?

Best Place To Buy

Now we’ve established that this is undoubtedly one of the finest extracts going, you may be wondering why Love CBD use spray bottles instead of the standard tincture-style bottles.

The most important reason is that it allows for an easy way to maintain a standard dosing schedule. Each spray – taken under the tongue and held just like a typical tincture – delivers exactly 0.16ml of liquid and 4mg of CBD.

Given that the bottle is 20ml (most rivals vend at 10ml) this allows for around 125 doses in total. With most people taking a dose three times a day, that’s around a five week supply of top-grade CBD – a figure we agree represents very impressive value indeed compared to other manufacturers.

The second reason is that it’s simply more convenient. Instead of getting funny looks when you’re taking your dose when out and about, a spray can be taken when walking down the street. Just be sure to get it under the tongue and hold for a minute or so. Spray bottles are also far less prone to leaks, generally less messy, and fit snug into a pocket.

Olive Oil Is An Excellent Natural Agent

Another point worth mentioning is that Love CBD still stand by unflavoured olive oil to carry their extract. Opinions vary regarding the use of artificial flavourings, but nobody disputes that olive oil is perfectly effective for oral use.

MCT is an alternative being increasingly used – but as outlined above, this company does everything as naturally as possible.

It tastes a bit nicer, but do be aware that it can be a little overwhelming until you get used to it (and most users do).

Love CBD Entourage Capsules 1200mg

,

Until recently, Love CBD only offered their highly regarded Entourage capsules in 600mg (10mg per capsule) sizes.

We’re delighted to report that they’ve now added a 1200mg (20mg x capsule) option to their range, allowing those who need a highly concentrated dose to also do so with their signature ‘entourage effect’.

These are premium grade capsules and command a pretty serious price tag.

So are they worth considering, and are capsules still relevant in the world of modern CBD? Let’s find out.

Quality Is Key

There’s no shortage of people who consider capsule intake to come a distant third to oil drops and e-liquids these days.

To an extent, this is understandable because there’s no doubt that any capsule supplement does lose some of its potency when passing through the digestive tract.

But on the flip side, doses which are taken this way release slower into the bloodstream, are much more convenient, and carry none of the hemp flavour which so many people struggle with. So it depends really on which side your opinion falls.

The real point to consider is that for any CBD product to fully integrate itself with the bloodstream, it must be a well-balanced and high-quality extract.

A growing body of research confidently suggests that the additional cannabinoids lost when creating a ‘pure’ CBD isolate play a key role in helping the body absorb all the potential goodness. For this reason, we are big fans of full spectrum CBD varieties and few come close to those offered by Love CBD.

Why The Entourage Effect Is Vital

Best Place To Buy

Don’t for a second think that the ‘entourage effect’ is some crafty marketing gimmick. Research into the additional advantages such extracts offer dates back to the 1970s, and these Entourage 1200mg capsules are packed full of additional goodness.

One of the reasons why Love CBD are such a respected name is that they provide detailed batch testing results for their customers to examine.

In this case, you’ll see that the CBDA – deemed essential for carrying the core CBD extract throughout the body – is even greater than the standard extract.

When allied with a powerful 1200mg (20mg) dose, that’s going to provide an excellent agent for spreading the base CBD to the body’s own cannabinoid receptors.

In layperson’s terms, there aren’t many CBD capsules on the market that come close to helping effectively administer the extract to where in the body it may be most needed.

The only other ingredient used in these gelatin-free vegetable capsules is coconut oil. Of all the carrying agents used across the market, coconut oil is one of the best for helping absorb supplements via the stomach.

Many other companies ignore this established but essential fact, and that’s quite simply why so many people have limited or little success using their capsules.

The Purest Extract Possible

OK, so we have a well thought out and high strength full spectrum CBD product – but there are also other reasons why Love CBD rank so consistently towards the top of any independent leaderboard.

Their hemp is expertly selected from licensed farms in the Netherlands, Ukraine and the Czech Republic – each of which uses only 100% organic and natural growing techniques. Not a drop of artificial fertiliser or pesticide get near the hemp in order to produce the healthiest hemp from the purest of soils.

When it comes to extraction time, they use only eco-friendly CO2 processing in order to reduce THC levels way below the legal threshold but vitally to also preserve the CBD, CBDA, CBG, and dozens of other cannabinoids, minerals, vitamins, and terpenes.

Using the finest quality hemp without so much as a hint of chemical delivers a genuinely full-spectrum hemp extract packed full of natural goodness.

Plenty Vaporizer Review

It may resemble something you’d pick up the local DIY store, but make no mistake – this is one of the best desktop vaporizers out there.

German company Storz & Bickel go heavy not just on the industrial aesthetic but also on performance. They’re probably the best vape engineers in the world right now.

So while it may look bizarre, you’ll just have to take our word when we say with absolute confidence that this will change the way you look at vaping.

Perfect for ‘aromatherapy use’ be it dry herb or concentrates, it has everything anyone could wish for and delivers a quality that will knock your socks off.

Specifications & Features

As with all of their products, the Plenty vaporizer is designed from medical grade, vegetarian, and eco-friendly components.

This is an A/C unit that doesn’t have a built-in battery, meaning that much as we’d like to carry it about (and enjoy the funny looks we’d get from passers-by), you’ll need to have this plugged in for static use, hence the ‘desktop’ label.

You can use this anywhere indoors, and thanks to a long cable and being a lightweight 0.7kg, is easy to pass around and share. Our only word of warning would be the exposed metal coil – it can get pretty warm after long sessions but isn’t going to scold anyone (the built-in temperature controls prevent that).

Temperature is controlled by two settings. First of all, you determine which ‘level’ of heat you wish on a scale of 1-7 by using a handy little wheel attached at the side.

This sets the heating element (dual convection and current) to work, and you’ll see the little temperature dial start to rise at the front. A light will flash on when it reaches the desired heat, and you’re good to go.

Interestingly, that will fluctuate determining on the depth and speed of your draws. While it takes only a minute or so to warm up even to the highest settings, it’s interesting to watch as after being idle it automatically switches off.

To get it back to optimum temperature, just squeeze the handle and it’ll be back up to heat in seconds.

Plenty Vaporizer: A UK Review

The Plenty vaporizer will make your portable vape will feel very second rate.

An Out Of This World Vaping Experience

Despite the unusual appearance, it’s an extremely ergonomic way to enjoy your vaping session.

Vapour is dispensed by squeezing the handle and is produced in almost ultimate silence. Long gone are the days or raspy draws!

In a more practical sense, the temperature management system is seriously impressive and designed very much to preserve your herbs and concentrate by minimising wastage.

It’s one of the many reasons to love Storz & Bickel – they design all of their products for your convenience, and the Plenty vaporizer is the perfect demonstration of that commendable ethos.

When it comes to the actual quality – just expect the absolute best possible. All of their premium grade vaporizers use a similar design that’s tried and tested, trusted and proven to deliver the best standard of clouds imaginable.

Expect giant big clouds with the Plenty when it’s used at higher temperatures – but unlike typical ‘cloud chasing’ vaporizers they don’t retain any burnt notes or unpleasant hot spots.

The metal coils exist for a reason – they provide extremely efficient cooling notes to the vapour, making your clouds pretty much as heavenly as imaginable.

Storz & Bickel Quality Counts

Best Place To Buy

You can probably tell that our review team has a lot of time for these guys, and it’s not without good reason.

They’re so confident in the durability and effectiveness of the Plenty vaporizer that they offer a 3 year manufacturer’s warranty and guarantee on every unit.

As great as that is, one of the quirks of this unit is that apart from the A/C charge there are next to no replaceable components although spares are easily available.

Everything supplied in the box ought to last for years. There are additional accessories available (such as glass mouthpieces) which tempt us for trying out further down the line, but for a static vape kit, this is absolutely the bee’s knees.

In terms of durability, it’s difficult to relay exactly how ‘hard’ this device is. We weren’t going to risk flinging it down the stairs but anecdotal experience from other users suggest that it’s going to brush off the occasional domestic mishap with ease.

Besides the plastic casing all other components are metallic and one of the reasons why the ‘power tool’ analogy is equally useful when describing this vaporizer.

It delivers impeccable quality but with the exact durability that you’d expect from such a prestigious name.

Volcano Digit Vaporizer Review (With Easy Valve Set)

How do you make one of the best loved desktop vaporizers even better without compromising on a winning formula?

This was the problem facing Storz & Bickel when they were looking to upgrade their legendary – but starting to show its age – Volcano Classic Vaporizer.

For those unfamiliar with this device, it has legions of fans from across the globe. It uses a proprietary balloon-based system to deliver peerless quality herb and concentrate vaping.

With the upgraded Digit Vaporizer, they’ve made the system more personalised, ever easier to use and to maintain. The inclusion of a brand new Easy Valve set makes your vaping experience much more simple.

At the time of writing, Namaste Vapes are offering the complete kit at a discounted price of £374.00 from the usual RRP of £399.00. But is it truly worthy of such a high-end price tag? Let’s take a closer look…

The Digital Display Is A Complete Game Changer

Just in case you may be unfamiliar with the Volcano Classic Vaporizer, perhaps the only downside is that the unit never had much in the way of variable settings. You filled it up, attached a balloon, turned it on and waited for it to do the legwork.

While the vape quality is pretty much as good as physically possible, some people like to use different heating temperatures, especially when using concentrates. Too high a temperature could sometimes mean less efficiency resulting in waste.

The Digit Vaporizer BalloonSo, the next logical step was to make this heating process much more versatile. Thanks to the inclusion of a simple digital display, users can now set their temperature precisely anywhere between 108 and 236 degrees centigrade.

It still takes around 3 minutes to fully inflate a balloon, but once done you’ll be surprised at how many pulls you can take from it – and of course, it powers off automatically when full.

For those who already have a Volcano device and are among the 99% of people who would never look back from owning one, then this may not be enough reason to splash out on an upgrade.

But for those yet to be converted to this style of ultimate vaping, there’s a clear enough reason to opt for this latest model simply because it offers that additional layer of versatility.

As concentrates become more common in the UK, this will become especially important so bear that in mind if you’re planning to treat yourself to a Volcano Digit Vaporizer.

As Good As Vaping Gets

The hallmark of the Volcano brand is how assiduously their devices work when eliminating the vast majority of toxins from both dry and concentrate ingredients.

They estimate that it removes about 4/5ths of undesirable elements, which actually improves the quality of the active ingredients in both effect and flavour.

After regular use of both the classic and digital Volcano vaporizer styles, we wholeheartedly agree that this is as smooth and perfect a vape as you’ll ever get.

How Easy Is The Volcano Digit To Use?

Best Place To Buy

Those who have already invested in a Volcano product tend to never look back. But it can seem an unusual style for those who have not experienced it before.

Apart from being able to determine your own temperature, the device is really just an on/off button. All the technical wizardry takes place silently behind the scenes and includes all the temperature and circuit protection you’d expect to safely enjoy your vape.

Each balloon has a mouthpiece attached which automatically seals after every draw. So you can fill one up and enjoy at your leisure over several hours.

When disconnected, the device rapidly cools. This means you shouldn’t experience barely any unnecessary wastage (pro tip: you can attach another balloon to catch any fumes should you so desire).

The Easy Valve Set Adds Considerable Value

Volcano Easy Valve Starter KitA major improvement in this digital model is the inclusion of a comprehensive Easy Valve Set. These are replaceable but ought to last much longer than previous models.

The set includes five balloons, a screen set, air filter set and liquid pads. Not sure what the heck any of that means or what they do? It amounts to plenty of spares that ought to last even a daily user around a year before you need to order replacements (which aren’t going to break the bank either!).

This isn’t just an amazing vaporizer. There’s no reason it shouldn’t last for many years with appropriate care. This needn’t mean wiping and polishing it down after every single use, just regular cleaning – a couple of minutes tops – and it will not let you down.

A cleaning kit is included (as well as a grinder) which has everything you need to look after your sparkling new Volcano Digit Vaporizer.

Crafty Vaporizer Review

In the market for a hybrid convection vaporizer but baffled by the range of choices out there? Well, let’s cut straight to the chase and make a bold statement.

The Crafty vaporizer from Storz and Bickel is without question one of the finest portable models on the market.

Combining style with stereotypical German functionality has managed to deliver a truly exceptional hybrid convection-based device.

Perfect for enjoying both dry herbs and concentrates with impeccable ease, this is hands down one of the best such products we’ve ever had the privilege to review.

Interested to find out why? Read on!

A Convenient & Portable Vaporizer

You may already be familiar with a couple of other Storz & Bickel vape devices, especially the famous static Volcano Classic unit.

Their plan with the Crafty vaporizer is once again in the name – to combine that level of outstanding vape production but in a portable package.

This vaporizer is most certainly craftily discreet. Finished in a kind of cyber-punk style and also conveniently able to stand up straight (a big annoyance about the Mighty range) it looks cool and clearly means business.

Weighing in at just 136 grams and 11.0 cm x 5.7 cm x 3.3 cm in size, it’s far more ‘pocket-sized’ than the highly reviewed Mighty vaporizer (also from Storz & Bickel), but of course, the big question is how well it compares in regards to performance.

Storz & Bickel Crafty

Image: The Crafty packs the performance of its brother, the Mighty, but in a smaller and more portable device.

A Truly Amazing Vaping Experience

Almost as if they’re trying to confirm their status as one of the world’s leading vape design companies, they’ve somehow managed to pack the performance of the Mighty in the Crafty model.

It uses the same hybrid convection/conduction heating system and delivers – in our opinion – just as good a vape. By good, we mean literally as good as it’s probably possible to get!

As would be expected, the capacity is considerably smaller but still more than enough to get through a couple of decent sessions. We found that even half full with a dry herb mix (the maximum capacity is 0.25 grams), performance was not in the slightest bit compromised.

What you will notice is that it’s extremely functional and easy to use – some words that are rarely used in association with super-premium vaporizers.

There are two pre-programmed heat settings (Default 356F and Boost 383F), and in all honesty, not a massively noticeable difference between the two.

What’s much more interesting and makes a considerable difference to your vaping experience is that the temperature can be set between 104F to 410F. That provides plenty of room to establish your personal favourite heating limit, and of course, this can also be programmed and saved into the device.

Instead of flipping through endless fiddly menus and sub-menus, there’s the option to download a Crafty vaporizer app.

Crafty Vaporizer App

Image: The Crafty vaporizer app helps to maximise your vaping experience.

At first, this sounded like it may be a little gimmicky, but it’s actually a fantastic USP of this kit. Not only does it allow you to determine your temperature within a couple of seconds, but it also provides alerts for when the unit is ready to enjoy and about to power off.

Make no mistake, this is a brilliant app and will save you from unnecessarily burning through your supplies when the unit is left on accidentally. Try it out and you’ll see exactly what we mean!

The Battery Life Isn’t Ideal

Best Place To Buy

So far, so good. But nothing is perfect.

There was inevitably going to be a drawback on the battery life given how small and portable this kit is.

Compared once again to the Mighty, we’d optimistically say that with ‘typical’ use this vaporizer has perhaps around half the equivalent battery life.

Clearly, the manufacturers didn’t want to compromise on the vape quality (and we credit them for that as it’s naturally the most important factor), but it’s something some users will want to consider carefully.

Over a few days we found that from a fully charged battery using moderate temperature settings the device provided around 45 minutes of continual use.

By our estimation, that’s four ten minute sessions a day allowing for heating up time.

The device can also be used when charging – a neat feature – providing you have around 20% of residual battery life. A full recharge takes about 2 hours when left alone.

Overall, it may sound a bit of a downer, but that’s an inevitable compromise for an otherwise amazing pocket vaporizer.

Packing, Cooling & Cleaning

Plenty of thought has gone into making these essential techniques as easy as possible.

The device works great regardless of load. It’s a simple case of popping your ingredients into the mixer, screwing together and charging it up for a vape.

More importantly, the cooling chamber actually works superbly (unlike plenty of other products we could mention) and this serves to keep the mouthpiece perfectly benign even with long sessions.

A cleaning kit is included as standard as well as instructions but we’d suggest also picking up some cleaning solution (minimum 91% alcohol) for convenience as well. Cleaning out the tank and mouthpiece takes a minute – tops.

Volcano Classic Vaporizer Review

Anyone who has frequented an Amsterdam coffee shop in recent years may have enjoyed using this style of vaporizer.

The Volcano Classic from Storz & Bickel is a patented vaporizing/aromatherapy unit that uses a ‘balloon’ system to capture, store, and of course enjoy your clouds.

It’s certainly an unusual system rarely seen on the UK vape scene until recently, but already there’s a growing body of aficionados claiming that it’s the best vaping experience they’ve ever enjoyed.

So is this a 21st-century shisha pipe – or just an overpriced gimmick? Let’s take a look at our findings.

How The Volcano Classic Works

Just for clarity’s sake let’s be clear from the start that this is really a static device designed for use at home.

In a nutshell, it works by attaching a balloon over the top of the ‘volcano’ peak which will inflate with filtered vapour from your herb and concentrates.

It uses a straightforward convection element to gently heat your goodies and is capable of doing so at between 104°F and a very impressive 446°F.

The herb/concentrates have the advantage of a very wide heating platform which ensures that the resulting vapour is extremely consistent and very well balanced.

All you need to control your balloon inflation exactly to your preferences is to set the heat and air appropriately. You may like to experiment with these a little as it does vary depending on what you’re choosing to vape.

As would also be expected, this latest version of the Volcano (the design has been around for decades) also employs state of the art temperature and ventilation control to prevent overheating.

Once the bag is filled with delicious clouds, puff, and pass, to your heart’s content! It can be disconnected from the Volcano and enjoyed at leisure.

While clearly ideal for group sessions, it also works nicely for a handy personal vape and will comfortably fit on a side table. The unit only weighs 1.8kg and takes up about as much space as a small potted plant.

Easy Valve Kit

Image: The Easy Valve Starter Kit (available to buy as an optional extra).

How Well Does It Perform?

Best Place To Buy

Now let’s discuss the million pound question!

Make no mistake – we weren’t quite sure what to make of this device. While it’s true very similar designs are to be found in those Dutch coffeeshops, this seemed a little smaller to what we remembered.

Fortunately, none of that matters! There’s no question whatsoever that after just a couple of puffs you’ll be blown away by the quality of the clouds generated by the Volcano Classic. It’s no less than stunning.

Over a couple of days, we tried it with dry herbs and concentrates with there being essentially no difference in quality between the two.

If forced to choose we’d say herb was up there with the best ever tried.

Regarding ease of use, once you get your head around vaping from a balloon it’s absolutely awesome.

Nice and light, with no chance of running out of battery juice thanks to not actually having one! It stores up to 0.75g a time but if anything we’d say 0.5g will provide more than enough for a typical little session, and will provide idyllic clouds for plenty of time.

A full balloon should provide around 6-8 hours of vaping. Heating up time is around 2 to 3 minutes depending on the load – a little longer than usual but that is due to the size of the heating element and a tiny compromise to make for world-class cloud chasing.

A Comprehensive Kit

Considering this is a specialist German import that uses dedicated accessories, parts and balloons, it’s easy to assume that you’ll be in a pickle when it is time to replace components.

Fortunately, this is not the case. All replaceable parts are not only easy to find online from UK-based distributors nowadays, but the kit comes with enough spares to last the manufacturer’s 3-year warranty. This includes balloons (each is supposedly good for 50-100 refills), filter pads, screens, cleaning kit, and liquid pad.

Replacement balloons are very cheap, and the supplied screens/pads (estimated to last around a year) are also not going to break the bank either.

Mighty Vaporizer Review

When it comes to top-of-the-line vaporizers pedigree counts. The Mighty vaporizer has been designed by the legendary Storz & Bickel to deliver a pretty much unparalleled superb quality vaping experience.

Built for durability, extra long battery capacity, and with masses of power near instantly at hand, make no mistake – this is a seriously premium product.

Compatible with oils, concentrates and dry herbs, this device will be able to easily handle whatever you dare throw at it.

Without question, this is one of the finest devices we’ve ever had the pleasure to review, so fingers crossed you’re ready to start drooling!

Technical Specifications

All of these are available in detail on the manufacturer’s website, but there are of course certain qualities that should be covered from the start to emphasise the power of this vaporizer.

It uses a special hybrid design based upon both conduction and convection heating methods, alongside preconfigured heating ranges between 40ºC to 210ºC. As ought to be immediately clear, this allows for a very quick 60 second or so warm up, even at higher temperatures.

This 2018 model has also been beefed-up with even more battery life, so you can expect around 90 minutes of consistent vaping before it needs a recharge (which takes a couple of hours via the supplied USB charger and/or power adaptor).

Why Precise Temperature Control Matters

Best Place To Buy

One of the standout qualities of the Mighty vaporizer is that while it’s extremely easy to use, it also allows for a precise and easy to manage vape.

When in use, you simply configure the temperature to your desired level, and within a minute it’ll offer a little vibration to let you know it’s ready to go (a very handy feature when you’re out and about).

As you vape the smart little display will also keep you posted of the actual temperature, which of course is going to vary depending on the intensity of usage and the materials being used.

Clever Safety Features

There are extremely high-quality temperature and circuit safeguards to prevent overheating. If you forget to turn it off after a few draws, it will do so automatically after five minutes to help preserve battery life (you’ve got to love a vaporizer that watches your back this well!).

Anyone who has used similar high power vaporizers before will be all too aware of how many devices have inadequate mouthpieces. They can often become too hot and uncomfortable to use – hardly ideal if you’re the last to enjoy a blast during a shared session.

A great feature and again one that plays genuine testimony to the build quality is that this is probably the best and most reliable mouthpiece on the market. Whatever materials you vape, it’s going to be smooth, elegant and consistent every single time.

Storz & Bickel Mighty

What To Vape?

Early editions of the Mighty vaporizer were overtly designed for pretty much only dry herb vaping.

We highly suggest that if you treat yourself to this device be sure to add some concentrate pads to your order. It opens up a much wider variety of vaping options. While this has yet to become a common feature in the UK vape scene, mark our words – it will very soon indeed.

The unit comes with a liquid pad included, but remember that if concentrates are your thing, you’ll need to buy these separately (they’re reassuringly affordable).

As with any top quality vaporizer, you’ll need to perform a little cleaning and maintenance.

Sometimes this may feel like a chore, which is why Storz & Bickel have clearly gone out of their way to make this as straightforward as possible.

They’ve included a very handy cleaning kit inside the pack. All you need to do is to dip a cotton bud into some isopropyl alcohol (91%+). Just follow their detailed instructions and your kit will be sparkly clean in just a couple of minutes.

As with many features of the Mighty vaporizer, it’s designed for easy as well as efficient use – both of which are great by us!

Cleaning

Image: The best way to clean your Mighty vaporiser is to use a cotton bud dipped in isopropyl alcohol.

Hardcore Design!

More frequently than not, high-end vaporizers can be over-engineered and subsequently just not feel especially sturdy or reliable. Nobody in their right mind could ever claim this of the Mighty.

Short of flinging it against a brick wall, we can say with absolute certainty that this is a seriously tough piece of kit!

Sure, with that steel comes a little more weight than the usual device, but you can be rest assured this will easily last any style of festival conditions (mud, rain, drops, etc).

It certainly also carries a pretty utilitarian, functional design that resembles a prop from the Alien movie franchise!

It may not be the most beautiful or showy design ever – but then it’s called the Mighty for good reason.

How To Buy The Best Quality CBD Oil – 5 Things To Consider

, ,

How To Choose The Best CBD Oil

It’s quite bewildering how many CBD products have been released over the last few years. Variety may indeed be the spice of life, but as with any supplement, there’s a very real difference when it comes to quality.

One thing even total newbies to this scene will notice right away is how every company on the market claims to offer the ‘purest’, ‘finest’ or most ‘natural’ choices going. But what do these labels actually mean?

Due to the CBD market being practically unregulated, there’s nothing to prevent these supplements being marketed however the manufacturer chooses.

Even those truly dodgy operations flogging knock-off extracts can claim their snake oil is the highest quality possible. Naturally, this can make it very awkward identifying the real deal from the chaff.

That being said, there are sensible precautions to take when considering purchasing a CBD oil – so here’s the lowdown on how to avoid being ripped off.

1) Manufacturing Methods Are An Essential Indicator Of Quality

Manufacturing CBD

How CBD oils are manufactured can make all the difference.

Ever wondered why one 10ml bottle of CBD oil costs maybe a third the price of another yet boasts the same strength and size? By far the greatest reason for this differential comes down to the production and extraction methods used to refine the oil from the hemp.

All ‘value’ manufacturers use extraction processes which are heavily depended upon toxic chemicals. These may be anything from butane through to ethanol and pretty much everything in between.

When performed with care these methods can indeed provide a cheap and effective means to produce oil – but very few companies are so exacting. 99% of the time these isolates will have destroyed all the other cannabinoids (as well as psychoactive THC) which are increasingly thought to be essential for making CBD effective.

Top tier companies use far more expensive and time-consuming CO2-based extraction methods. These can either produce an isolate or a more complex end product retaining much more of the goodness.

So look for those which use either this or high-quality ethanol based processing should you be searching for a truly legit and great quality oil.

2) Not All Hemp Is Grown Equally!

Growing Hemp

Where and how hemp is grown can also be an indicator of quality.

Hemp is renowned for being able to grow pretty much anywhere. This is all fine and great for industrial purposes, but don’t forget that the quality of the soil plays a huge part in the resulting health of the plant. When looking to use these plants for supplemental purposes, this makes the quality of the hemp absolutely paramount.

Cheap hemp is almost certainly going to be grown on soil that is dense in heavy metals and other pollutants. Sure, these may be filtered during processing but it’s still going to undermine the actual quality of the plant.

Reliable manufacturers will use only organically grown plants with no artificial chemicals, growth agents, pesticides or similar nasties employed at any stage. Love CBD are a great example of such a highly reputable company.

In the European market look for manufacturers who stress the origins of their hemp grown under license for explicitly human consumption.

CBD manufacturers in the U.S. are at an advantage because of strict licensing rules that all but ensure only high-grade hemp can be grown.

So check the provenance of the hemp and be wary of any manufacturer who is shy to reveal their sources.

3) Isolate Or Full-Spectrum?

CBD Isolate vs Full Spectrum

CBD Isolate vs. Full-spectrum: Which is better?

When it comes to ‘pure’ CBD this term has usually been used to describe isolates which all but totally eliminate any residual cannabinoids – especially THC.

Logic would suggest that this means isolates are the best because after all, they’re strictly speaking delivering exactly what they claim.

Yet plenty of research suggests that full-spectrum CBD is more beneficial. It retains far more of the dozens of other cannabinoids found within the plant, as well as terpenes, minerals, and secondary vitamins.

It’s believed that these play a vital role in helping the body effectively use and absorb the CBD goodness – at the cost of retaining a slightly higher (yet still legal) amount of THC.

Be careful when it comes to terminology because there’s no industry standard on what manufacturers may use to label their products.

Look especially for those companies who openly publish independent testing results to prove that their oils retain additional cannabinoids – as almost always these will be far higher quality extracts. Isolate isn’t all it’s cracked up to be!

4) Does THC Content Matter?

THC In CBD Oil

In order to buy CBD oil legally in the UK, it must not contain more than 0.3% THC.

Providing it falls below the legal threshold (which every commercially available extract in the UK will) then there’s no harm in having a little residual THC.

We’re talking levels so small that there’s not the slightest chance of becoming ‘high’ or failing a drugs test. Remember that the body produces small quantities of THC anyway!

Plenty of lower quality manufacturers make a great song and dance over their product containing ‘zero’ THC. As outlined above, that’s not necessarily a good thing and should not be taken as a hallmark for quality. It’s also neigh on impossible to create an oil without a trace amount of THC retained.

Good producers will acknowledge this and be open about it, even if they specialise in isolates.

5) Factor In Marketing Methods

We’ve already touched on this but it’s worth making it perfectly clear that inappropriate labelling usually indicates a substandard product.

Any CBD oil marketed as ‘marijuana’ or cannabis oil is likely very low grade, and quality vendors will always shy away from trying to market their wares as such.

Look instead for operations which maintain a consistent eco-friendly and ‘right-on’ emphasis on the quality of their products.

There’s a growing number of companies who understand that people don’t want to pump themselves full of contaminated oils from substandard plants. Their products are the ones to look towards, and while they will most certainly be more expensive, quality goes a long way.

To an extent, this can also be applied to strengths. Not many people will really need the benefit of the superstrong concentrates that have been launched in recent times.

A good quality CBD oil will be naturally produced with great care, and will likely be far more beneficial than a high strength product.

Final Thoughts

If you follow these five guidelines then it should be quite clear how to source the best quality CBD oil without much risk of being fleeced.

If you’re ever in any doubt, then the best policy is to check directly with the manufacturer and ask them questions about the production of their extracts.

It’s a buyer’s market right now and competition between the best and biggest names is fierce – meaning they also have very good customer service teams in place to answer questions from prospective customers.

Shop around and simply do not settle on second best for a small discount in price.

A Brief History Of Hemp & What It’s Been Used For

,

A History Of Hemp

Recent archeological finds have suggested that humans have been using hemp for almost 30,000 years. It’s a staggering figure which indicates that our complicated relationship with this amazing plant may even predate assumptions on the age of what we’d recognise as organised agriculture.

So why, after all these millennia do we still get so uptight about hemp? After all, if it was good enough for our cave-dwelling ancestors then it must be good enough for us, right?

Whisper it gently but there has actually been considerable progress towards rationalising our relationship with hemp over the last couple of decades.

Medical marijuana and the widespread use of CBD derivatives have made a big difference – so much so that more enlightened parts of the globe are decriminalising even recreational use. All this is good, progressive news – and there’s a huge range of applications for hemp materials that we can continue to use in this day and age.

Here’s a lowdown on some of the best.

1) Food

Hemp In Food

Hemp provides a natural source of protein, magnesium, zinc, iron and potassium.

Hemp has historically been highly valued as a foodstuff. Sure, our ancestors may not have known the extent of its nutritional value but regardless – it’s a truly fantastic health food.

A growing number of food companies have been spearheading a renaissance in the use of hemp. These may not be especially mainstream yet but hemp milk, oils, dairy substitutes, and selected seeds are increasing in popularity.

Not without good reason either. Hemp is a fantastic natural source of protein, magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium and assorted other essential vitamins and minerals.

It’s also a great vegetarian source of Omega 3 and 6. Easy to prepare (you can cook it pretty much any way under the sun) with great shelf life and a superbly bountiful crop, hemp is projected to make a big comeback to the kitchen over coming years.

2) Rope

Hemp Rope

Historically, hemp was widely used to manufacture durable rope.

The Romans, Greeks, and Vikings extensively used hemp ropes for their legendary fleets. Still used in some applications today, hemp rope is naturally strong and resilient to decay.

While no style of rope is entirely invincible when it comes to seawater decay, not many come close to hemp which is why it remained popular for around 2000 years.

Even better, hemp rope is extremely cost-effective and surprisingly light for its strength. Such factors made it popular with shipbuilders and quartermasters for so long!

These days, there are huge possibilities for the use of hemp rope, especially in developing regions where wire reinforced cables are too expensive or impractical.

3) Clothing

Hemp Fibres For Clothing

Archaeologists have argued that hemp may have been one of the first plants harvested for textile fibre.

A growing proportion of the archeological community is beginning to agree that hemp was quite possibly the first material used for textile clothing.

Artefacts have been unearthed in the Middle East and Far East dating over 10,000 years old. This may suggest that the transition from animal pelts to textiles used hemp as a ‘stepping stone’ which soon became ingrained in regional cultures.

The Chinese provide the best evidence for the use of lightweight, absorbent and durable hemp in clothing. Artefacts have pointed to the use being widespread and spanning many hundreds if not thousands of years.

Thanks to being so cheap and easy to produce, hemp was used across the world as a straightforward alternative to the far more expensive cotton crops.

It took until the nineteenth century for cotton to be able to rival hemp for use in clothing – a remarkable finding that once more has been long lost to history.

4) Paper – But Not As We Know It!

Hemp Paper In China

Again, we have the Chinese to thank for inventing hemp paper – or more accurately, hemp tablets that could be used for writing.

The only viable alternative was incredibly expensive silks, and so closely was this secret kept that it took hundreds of years for the Japanese, and then the Arabic countries to finally uncover.

Over time, these processes evolved into what we would today recognise as a style of paper. Cheaper than wood and without the ecological and environmental damage, perhaps one day we will see a return to hemp being used for this purpose.

5) Religious & Cultural Symbolism

Cannabis In Ancient Cultures & Religions

Cannabis/Hemp has been used in many (mostly ancient) religious ceremonies for centuries.

Proponents of the marijuana plant often mention the incredibly varied religious, spiritual and cultural applications to which their favourite plant has been applied.

From India to Tibet and of course modern day Rastafarianism, the hemp plant has played a pivotal role in both formal ceremonies and for personal use.

Quite how important the psychoactive element may have been considered is long lost to history, but once again archeological evidence from ancient monasteries and religious compounds indicates that its use was frequent, and in considerable quantities.

Besides Rastafarianism, the use for hemp in this style is not so common these days, but there are of course many communities to continue to espouse the ‘free love’ symbolism of the 1960s. Perhaps in the future hemp will be used again in such a style.

Final Thoughts

These are just five examples of where and how hemp has been used throughout history, and of course where it may yet make a comeback!

Regardless of how you look at it, the criminalisation and scaremongering that surrounds this most versatile and fascinating plant seems so bizarre when placed into such a context.

Hemp is without question one of the most universally useful plants nature has bestowed on us, so it seems crazy not to make the best use of it today.

CBDLife UK – A Full Review

Choosing which UK-based CBD supplier to deal with can be a tricky decision. Even the best companies tend to have the odd glitch here or there. Well, most of them anyway!

CBDLife may just be a rare exception to the rule. If there’s ever a company that deserves rave reviews, then these guys do.

We’ve reviewed hundreds of products over the years, and we can say with absolute confidence – they’re getting even better.

Interested in finding out why CBDLife are one of the best companies in the UK right now? Allow us to explain why…

Who Are CBDLife?

CBDLife ReviewOne of the first things that becomes apparent when you check out CBDLife is that they’re a very chilled out company!

There are none of the pushy sales methods, grandiose (and legally dubious) claims that CBD is a super or wonder drug, or any sign of pumping out products just for the sake of things.

Instead, they approach this food supplement from a far more thoughtful and ‘right-on’ perspective, assuring customers that their mission is to spread the word about how great hemp extracts may potentially be.

CBDLife were one of the founding members of the increasingly influential CTA (Cannabis Trades Association UK), and therefore have a duty to set very high standards.

Their hemp is sourced from licensed farms – primarily within the EU (mostly Slovakia and Holland). These farms employ only 100% organic and natural cultivation methods to grow the finest, healthiest and nutrient-rich plants possible.

When ready for harvest, their extraction runs exclusively use the CO2 freeze method – which unsurprisingly is the best and most environmentally sound technique available.

If there’s one thing to always be aware of when considering any CBD vendor it has to be the quality of the raw hemp. You cannot produce quality extracts from low-grade or unhealthy hemp. But from healthy hemp, you can extract all the other nutrient-rich aspects of the plant – which is why full-spectrum products are a true highlight of the CBDLife range.

It’s worth mentioning that CBDLife proactively lists all of their independently conducted batch tests on their website. What you purchase is exactly what you will get. It may not sound essential, but when picking out a truly excellent product it ought to be always referred to – especially when shopping for a non-isolate oil.

By now, it should hopefully be clear that CBDLife is as close to an ideal blueprint of what a top class CBD vendor ought to be.

Their reputation has been hard earned. Until recently, they focused far more upon quality rather than quantity. Business must be good this past year though – they’ve considerably extended their range recently with some very interesting and innovative new additions to the scene.

The big question, of course, has to be whether this has in any way compromised any of the foundations that have made them one of the most esteemed names in the game.

We’ll now take a detailed look through their broad variety of products. Rather than just list them (you can do that by visiting https://cbdlifeuk.com/cbd-products/), we’ll discuss the principles and pick out some highlights – especially products which we consider to fall firmly into the ‘trailblazing’ rating.

Quick Links:

Oils

CBDLife OilsCurrently available only in 10ml bottles (400mg or 1000mg), their two standard oils have some interesting differences from most of their rivals.

Instead of the traditional olive oil base – which is all fine and good in its own right – they use MCT oil.

After some initial controversy, it’s now being broadly accepted (apart from the occasional old-school purist) that MCT allows for a better sublingual absorption. It’s entirely non-toxic and used in a vast array of other foodstuffs and supplements. It may not mask the flavour, but for those looking for effectiveness, it’s simply difficult to beat.

All of their oils are full spectrum, containing CBD, CBDA and a wide variety of other cannabinoids, minerals, and vitamins.

Another interesting point is that CBDLife is the first big company to do away with old-fashioned droplet vials. Their oils are only available as sprays – and for good reason. They’re simply more practical, deliver an exact dose every time, and provide a good spread underneath the tongue. The bottles are as leak-proof as they get.

Once again, ‘purists’ may find this off-putting, but there really is no reason to feel that way. Sprays will become the accepted industry standard in the next couple of years, with these guys once again at the cutting edge of a new trend.

One other oil product worth mentioning (it’s rarely seen elsewhere) is their Aqua drops. As you may have guessed, this CBD extract is combined with spring water and available only in a 400mg strength.

It’s designed mostly for those who like to mix their dose into drinks, and appeals towards those who use the supplement as part of their post-workout/exercise routine. Simply take it around a half hour before eating to encourage proper absorption.

Overall, their oils may not offer the widest variety of strengths out there, but the quality is pretty much peerless.

We’d like to see maybe another offering of say 600mg or 700mg and we’d be surprised if that was not available soon. The spray delivery system and the use of MCT are innovative, practical, and add considerably to the effective absorption of the extract.

Capsules

CapsulesThey may not be the most fashionable way to take your dose, but capsules still make up a lion’s share of the market.

Primarily this is thanks to their convenience. Just add them to your daily vitamin schedule and the effects ought to slowly release into the body lasting around 8 hours. Take one with breakfast and one before dinner – it’s as simple as that.

Available in either 300mg or 750mg packages, they’re designed to integrate as effectively as possible with the body despite having to obviously pass through the digestive system. How? They use coconut oil which is one of the most absorbent oils for capsule ingestion.

As with their oils, they’re full-spectrum. They are designed for those who either like a zero-hassle means of taking their dose or just cannot stand the natural flavour of hemp oil. They’re also vegan-friendly.

Capsules may not be everyone’s preferred method, but these are good examples of how to make them as efficient and effective as possible.

Pastes

PasteNow, this is something you really don’t see every day! CBD pastes are still pretty rare in the UK which is surprising because they can be one of the best ways of ingesting your dose. This is a 17% whole plant (full-spectrum) extract that’s bursting with supplementary cannabinoids, terpenoids, and terpenes.

Taken in a similar fashion to oil (under the tongue) this is an easy to dispense and highly concentrated paste that’s consistently smooth.

It’s designed to pass directly into the bloodstream in one big ‘whack’ in a grain of rice-sized portion. It tastes very strongly of the plant – which can only be a good thing – in our opinion.

It’d be interesting to see this range expanded as it is one of the best customer reviewed products in the CBDLife range at the moment. Perhaps not for everyone but also quite likely the best way to take an oral dose, we’d highly recommend those looking for an alternative to classic sprays/oils to check this out.

Vaping

This is where CBDLife has been most busy recently. Their vaping range is now very extensive, and incorporates everything from preloaded vaping pens to dedicated e-liquids, wax/crumble, terpene isolates, and of course, easy to use starter kits.

Here’s a quick run through of their key ranges for vaping:

CBDLife ePen

ePenYou don’t need a fancy gizmo to enjoy vaping CBD – and don’t believe anyone who says otherwise!

Designed very much for those new to vaping, their ePens contain a basic 350mAh Battery, a preloaded full-spectrum cartridge (100mg or 200mg), charging unit and carry case.

They use a porous ceramic atomizer that’s specifically designed for vaping CBD because the extract tends to be thicker than a typical PG/VG vape juice.

Replacement cartridges are also available in packs of the same strength. It’s simple to screw them into the battery and vape away.

Their pens provide a super quick, easy and clean way to enjoy vaping your dose or to use as a supplement to an oil spray/capsule/paste routine as and when required.

All cartridges are available in Natural, Strawberry, Spearmint or a mysterious ‘Black Ice’ flavour option.

The Dab Pen & Crumble

Dabbing With CrumbleAnother kind of product you don’t see every day – dabbing is again predicted to really take off in the UK soon.

It provides a great way of immediately absorbing the CBD extract straight into the bloodstream.

A good alternative for those put off by traditional vaping methods, this kit contains everything you need to get started dabbing. A 650mAh magnetic variable voltage battery provides plenty of power, with a quart-based coil/atomizer (a replacement spare is included), along with a dab tool, charger and carry case. This also works with any crumble and you’re not limited to the CBDLife range either.

The crumble is available in 500mg or 1g pots and is also a full-spectrum extract. It can be used not just for dabbing, but also as a food additive, a base for homemade e-liquids, and even combined with oils for topical use.

Not many UK vendors have crumble at present, and this is already setting the benchmark of quality that anyone interested in CBD ought to be looking for.

CBD E-Liquids

E-LiquidsAlongside the e-liquid used in their ePen cartridges described previously, they also have a proprietary range of ‘Crystal Calm’ e-liquids at a flat 200mg strength.

That may sound a little on the low side, but remember that vaping is the most effective way of taking your dose. It hits the bloodstream instantly. When made from a full-spectrum extract, all that goodness is going to be so much better than a higher strength isolate.

There are 4 flavours to choose from: Menthol, Vanilla Custard, Strawberries & Cream, and Citrus Fruit Blast – each offering a very full-bodied, smooth vape.

Perhaps more interesting though is the option of picking up a 500mg vape additive. This can be added to any e-liquid in the world. Just add a couple of drops when filling up your tank, give it a decent shake and you’re good to go.

There aren’t many top-drawer companies who offer this at the moment. Those that do are almost always based on isolates. This offers the chance to add that full-spectrum goodness to your favourite vape – and we reckon it’ll be a bestseller very soon.

Isolates

IsolatesNot everything has to be full-spectrum and for those who like their isolates, then here’s a perfect vaping/dabbing option.

These finely ground crystals can be used in a variety of ways, and are a great option for those who like to experiment with 99% isolates!

Available from 500mg to 20g with price points to match, you won’t see this level available anywhere else at the time of writing.

It may not be for everyone, but if it is, then this is the company you need to buy from.

Edibles & Accessories

We’ve covered the core products but there’s still some sense in making a quick appraisal of the other peculiarities in the CBDLife range.

Have a sweet tooth? You can pick up a pack of CBD infused gummy rings (25mg per serving) which is a wonderful way of totally eliminating the taste of raw extract.

Packed full of vitamins and vegan-friendly, these are a fun little novelty for those with deep pockets.

Should you fall in love with CBDLife and their products, you can even pick up a branded T-shirt, hoodie or cap! We’ll leave that to your discretion – but hey, why the hell not!
